Health Tip - Electronic Media Use Linked to Poorer Child Well-Being
Children who watch television, use computers, and play video games in early childhood are at an increased risk of poorer well-being just two years later. Researchers found that children who had high levels of television viewing were at increased risk of poor family functioning, while girls with high levels of video game and computer use were at increased risk for emotional problems. The findings suggest increased time spent with electronic media results in a lack of appropriate relationships within the family or a failure to develop these relationships.
