Latham Family Scholarship Application
Congratulations Class of 2017!
You are finally high school seniors, and about to begin the journey of a lifetime— your first giant leap into adulthood. One of the most important parts of your senior year will be the finalization of your college plans. A scholarship from the Latham Family might be your answer!
The National Chapter created the Latham Family Scholarship after recognizing one of the most pressing needs in higher education today is funding. We feel scholarships will allow deserving high school seniors in the Latham Family to attain their educational goals, meet their professional objectives and succeed to their fullest ability. Graduating high school seniors who meet the Rules Governing the Scholarship are eligible to receive a scholarship.
The Latham Family Scholarship application must be postmarked no later than May 31. The recipient of the 2015-2016 Latham Family Scholarship will be announced in July 2017.
We also would like to take this opportunity to urge our Latham Family members to contribute to the Latham Family Scholarship. Donations will help build the fund and thereby increase the number of scholarships available for our Latham Family high school seniors.

Rules Governing the 2016-2017 Latham Family Scholarship
Please submit the following:
1. High school transcript (student has, at least, a 3.0 GPA)
2. Letter of recommendation (examples: from a school counselor, teacher, church official, employer, family member, etc.) with their contact information
3. Submit a Personal Statement (a brief description of yourself that includes your career goals and personal aspirations)
4. A recent photograph
5. Write at least a 1-page essay on one of the topics listed below:
a. The Latham Family or any family member
b. What the Latham Family Reunion means to you
c. The importance of continuing the Latham Family Reunions
6. The Latham Family Scholarship Committee would like to get to know you better, please answer the following questions/statements:
a. Describe your academic plans to achieve the goals listed in your Personal Statement.
b. What is the motivation behind your goals?
c. In what activities did you participate while in high school? (include extra-curricular and jobs)
d. List any offices held or honors received in these activities
e. List any academic honors you have received
